REVIEW : NEGERI 5 MENARA

Negeri 5 Menara is an adaptation of a novel of the same name by Ahmad Fuadi. This movie was produced by Kompas Gramedia combines with Milion Pictires on 2012. The main character in this movie is Alif (Gazza Zubizareta).
Alif who has just graduated from high school in Maninjau is a simple student. He want to continue his study in his favorite university in Bandung, but his parents want him to continue his study in Pondok Madani, an Islamic Boarding School in Jawa Timur. Altough Alif doesn’t want to school there, Alif approve the demand of his parents to school in Ponorogo. When Alif arrives in pondok Madani with his father, his heart is more break. That place is like jail in his eyes.
Fistly, Alif often be alone. But after the passage of time, he try to find new friends there. Finally, he find new friends there. There is like Baso (Billy Sandy) from Gowa, Atang (Rizki Ramdani) from Bandung, Said (Ernest Samudera) from Surabaya, Raja (Jiofani Lubis) from Medan, and Dulmajid (Aris Putra) from Madura.
They became best friends. They always sitting together under the Madani’s Tower and they named it, Shahibul Menara. The situation increasing warm in the first class, when Alif and friends get full spirit from Ustazd Salman, ‘Man Jadda Wajada’ and its mean that who is serious they surely succes. And it make they always think big dreams.
They have ambition to dominate the world, such as Indonesia, America, Europe, and Africa. In Madani’s Tower they make a promise to dominate the world and get their dreams.
This movie is very interesting. I think this film can give positive energy to anyone who saw it. Alif’s way of addressing all the problems that he faced made us learn that sometimes what we want is not necessarily be the best for ourselves. Not only that, the spirit shown in the story of Alif and his friends to achieve their dreams in this film also makes the audience learned that everything we want requires sacrifice and sincerity.
However, for those who have read the novel Negeri 5 Menara this should definitely be a little disappointed because maybe their estimate of the film will be as good as the depiction in the novel, in fact, is not so satisfactory as it is lifted into a movie. Because when a novel turned into a movie, the story will not be as detailed as in the novel. And we have to understand that a film has a limitation in time.
But overall this film should be considered for those who have not watched, given the content of the film is very good and suitable for all ages.
